Game Info:

* Team on pitch - 9

*Team Squad Size - 12

* There MUST be Minimum 2 girls on the pitch

Normally Y5 & Y6 children - However, it's your best Gaelic Football players

(If you have a Y4 child that plays well you can bring them).

4G PITCH AND GRASS!

​1.

10 Minute games (5 Minute each half) – depending on amount of schools that enter

(1 min half time.  Please do not extend this as it affects the running time order for the day)

 ​

​2. 

9-a-side: 2 girls must be on the pitch at any time.

(Unlimited Subs)

 ​

​3.

Maximum squad of 12 players.

 

​4. 

Play commences with a throw-in between two players from each team in the middle of the pitch.

Foul if ball is wrestled from an opponent who has caught the ball.

5.​

The goalkeeper may advance 10m for a kick out.

 

​6.​

The side-to-side (Shoulder) charge is NOT permitted.

Foul if this occurs

7.​

The ball may be caught in the hands and played away by kicking it or striking it with the hand.

8.​

The ball may be carried for four steps before bouncing (not more than once in a row) or toe tapping it.

Foul if more than once in a row.

9.​

The ball may be lifted off the ground with the hands, provided the player involved is on his/her feet.

Foul if player is still on their feet.

10.​

Free kicks may be taken from the hand or from the ground.

 

​11.​

A player who is fouled takes the free kick and when an opponent fouls the ball e.g. over carries it, the player nearest the ball takes the free.

 

​12.​

The opponent nearest to where the ball crosses the side line takes the side line kick from the hands.

 

​13.​

Opposing players to be at least 10 m from the player taking a free kick, side-line kick.

​14.​

When a point or a goal is scored, play restarts from the goal keeper. (This can be taken quickly!)

15.

Goalkeepers can be challenged when ball is in play.​

16.

Scoring:

Over the bar = 3 points

Goal = 1 point

17.

When a game has ended - players and teachers are 

expected to shake the hands of the opposing team players.
